How can it be August already? The new Rotary year is ahead and let's make it the best one yet!

IMPORTANT DATES:  August 5th at 6 pm  Board meeting at the Milano's

                                                                                   12th lunch meeting at Lorenzo's 12:15 pm

                                                                                   26th lunch meeting at Lorenzo's  12:15 pm

We are expecting our District Governor, Stephanie Phillips, to join us at our 8-26th meeting. DG Stephanie always brings news and tremendous insight. Let's give DG Stephanie a rousing WESTIE WELCOME. 

Upcoming events that are in the planning stages: Our 2nd annual September Homecoming for Rotarians, current and honorary, Rotaracs, and those  interested in Rotary- friends and colleagues. We had a terrific time last year sharing fellowship and friendship. 

We are collecting basic school supplies (or $ and supplies will be purchased) for our local elementary schools. As I mentioned previously, there is a tremendous need.

Bring your donations to our next meeting or call me at 203.507.6772 to arrange for collection. The last day for collection is August 19th.  

Let's put our heads together and think of a project that our club can undertake that would benefit West Haven and have a lasting impact.

It's not too early to think of the "purrrrfect/woofect" costume for the pet parade.

The lifeline or the beating heart of Rotary is its members. That beating heart can only function with each member engaging and participating. August, on the Rotary International calendar, is the month to expand membership. Bring a colleague or friend to a meeting to showcase what Rotary is about.

A noteworthy accomplishment as noted in the New Haven Register, to share: On behalf of the Board and fellow Rotarians, we want to extend congratulations to our Jim O'Brien, who was awarded the prestigious honor of Fire Chief of the Year. This award, presented by the Connecticut Fire Chiefs Association, recognizes Jim's integrity, providing exceptional service to the community, his commitment to advancing the skills of his firefighters, and also, demonstrating strong guidance and management of his department.  West Haven's public is in good hands.
